DYO Challenge

Track Championship

Track Championship

This event is open to all street cars and drag cars.

At this stage this event is for cars only, however if we get enough bikes, we will run them to, but we need at least 10 bikes.

How it works

All entrants will start by trying to work out their dial in, by putting down as many or as few passes as they like in a 3-hour open track session. Cars can line up in any staging lane, and the lane marshal will direct you to the start line where you will line up against any other entrant, remember you are just trying to work out your dial in and practice on that light.

This event will be run over the 8th mile and lights will be “Pro-tree”, so make sure you’re ready.

Once the open track session is done, and we are ready to start the DYO Challenge, get your cars into the staging lanes, if you turn up after round 1 has completed, sorry you have missed out.

Once in the lanes, we will come through and put your dial in on the side of your car, here’s the thing though, once you have locked in your dial in, YOU CAN’T CHANGE IT. Your dial in must stay the same for each round, if you are found to have changed your dial in, you will be disqualified.

Ready to Race?

Now that you are in the lanes and ready to go, our lane marshal will randomly pick you and your dancing partner to line up against, and yes, its an eliminator, so if you win come back around to the lanes, however if you don’t see the win light then its time to grab a beverage on the mound and watch some racing.

Normal DYO rules apply, wait for your green, get across the line first without going under your dial in to go through to the next round, when it comes to braking out or red lighting, “first is worst”.

We will continue to run round after round until there is just 1 standing, so make sure you can do laps and you have plenty of fuel on board.

Anyone who doesn’t get back to the lanes before the next round starts will be disqualified, so get back to the lanes, don’t head back to your camp unless you are out.

To spice things up and make things a bit more interesting, our winner will take home $1000, second place gets “squat”

🔥 HOW ROLL RACING WORKS AT SPRINGMOUNT RACEWAY 🔥

Once you’ve completed sign-on and attended the driver briefing, it’s time to hit the track. 🚗💨

There are two ways to race:

🏁 Race Ya Mate
Line up with the person you want to race and go head-to-head.

🏁 Race Anyone
Jump into the designated marshalling lane and get paired with another racer at random.

When the marshal calls you forward, move into the burnout box and wait for instructions. Burnouts are optional, but if you want one, this is your chance.

From there, both cars will move into the pre-stage and stage beams, just like a traditional drag race.

Once the Christmas Tree goes green, both drivers accelerate side-by-side to a controlled speed of 40–50km/h.

📍 At the 330-foot mark, you’ll reach the Roll Racing start lights and from there it’s full throttle to the 1/4 Mile finish line before safely getting off the gas, exiting the track, and heading back around for another run.

⚠️ IMPORTANT RULES ⚠️
• No slingshot starts
• Starting speed MUST stay between 40–50km/h
• Keep it safe, clean, and fun for everyone

🔥 Fast cars. Fair racing. Good times.
