General Vehicle Requirements
For vehicles not requiring a full technical inspection (i.e. most street cars and street bikes), the following items will need to be checked as part of general scrutineering on race day:

- Functional radiator overflow / catch can
- Functional neutral safety switch (so car can’t start in gear)
- Battery firmly secured
- No excess play in steering system
- Functional throttle return spring
- Functional brakes
- All wheel nuts fitted
- No hub caps fitted
- No significant rust in body or chassis
- No loose items in cabin
- Tailshaft loop if running 12.99 seconds or quicker on slick tyres (cars with two-piece tailshafts with a secure centre bearing support are exempt)
An IHRA Competitor Audit Declaration (CAD) form will need to be completed and a copy can be downloaded HERE
Licensing Requirements
The following licensing requirements apply:
– Street (street cars 13.00 seconds and slower) require a $5 day license – the day license form can be downloaded HERE
– Super Street (street cars 10.00 – 12.99 seconds) require either a $25 day license or an annual license at $100 USD – the day license form can be download HERE and the annual license form can be downloaded HERE
– Real Street (2003 or later model cars meeting the class requirements (class requirements can be downloaded HERE)) require either a $15 day license or annual license at $75 USD – the day license form can be download HERE and the annual license form can be downloaded HERE
– Competition (competition-style cars 9.50 – 10.99 seconds which are tech-inspected) require a competition license – the annual competition license form can be downloaded HERE
– Super Comp (competition-style cars 9.49 seconds or quicker which are tech-inspected) require a competition license – the annual competition license form can be downloaded HERE
– Street Bike (street bikes 10.00 seconds and slower) require a $5 day license – the day license form can be download HERE
– Comp Bike (all bikes 9.99 seconds and quicker) require a competition license – the annual competition license form can be downloaded HERE
– Junior Dragster require a competition license – the annual competition license form can be downloaded HERE
In addition to the above, below is a table intended as a guide for determining the safety requirements for OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) based cars and motorbikes. If your car or motorbike is not OEM-based (i.e. is a custom built chassis) or has a modified chassis or is of a performance level where technical requirements are identified below as being “as per IHRA regulations”, then it will require a full technical inspection and log book.
Specific technical and licencing requirements for OEM-based vehicles based on ET (Elapsed Time) are identified below:
